On July 6, 2019, MIIT organised CodeMutants 2019 – the first-ever competitive programming competition for MIIT students. A total of 20 teams comprising of 50 students participated in the first edition of CodeMutants.
A group of young, motivated girls at MIIT realised that our campus had become quite dirty. Instead of waiting around for change to happen, they took the matter into their own hands. The result was the first-ever MIIT Cleaning Drive.
Mr. Nandan Singh Bhaisora, Consul General of India in Mandalay, visited MIIT on March 29. He was on campus in order to donate several books to the MIIT Library.
H. E. Saurabh Kumar, Ambassador of India in Myanmar, Mr. Nandan Singh Bhaisora, Consul General of India in Mandalay, and Dr. Muthukumarasamy B., First Secretary, Development Projects Assistance, Embassy of India in Yangon visited MIIT on March 12, 2019.
The Chief Minister of Mandalay Region Government, Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, visited our campus with several of his cabinet members in order to inspect the celebrations for Union Day and the birthday of Bogyoke Aung San.
A team of three MIIT students from the B.E. (Hons.) programme participated in the APT Young Professionals and Students Programme Robotic Competition on December 22, 2018. The team, comprising of Aye Nyein Wai, Hnin Htet Htet Khaing, and May Thu, stood 3rd in the finals and secured the 5th position for innovative design.
The orientation programme for students joining the B.E. (Hons.) programmes in computer science and engineering (CSE) and electronics and communication engineering (ECE) in Academic Year 2018-19 was conducted on December 3, 2018.
The second meeting of the MIIT Governing Council, chaired by Dr. Thein Win, Director-General, Department of Higher Education, Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the MIIT Governing Council, was conducted on October 17, 2018 at MIIT, Mandalay, Myanmar.
On September 28, the students of MIIT organised Sayar Gadaw Pwe (Homage Paying Ceremony) for their teachers. The entire affair was completely managed by students. Following speeches by Dr. K. R. V. Subramanian and Dr. Win Aye, the students paid homage to their teachers through a prayer. All the faculty members from both India and Myanmar were in attendance.
As part of the faculty development programme at MIIT, Prof. K. A. Venkatesh conducted the first full-day session of a two-part workshop on LaTeX on September 21, 2018 in the Programming Laboratory at MIIT.
