MIIT welcomes its new batch!
The ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship (AIRTF) Scheme is a flagship funding program started by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India to support young ASEAN researchers to work at Indian research/academic institutions.
In times of global unrest, anxiety, and disruption, we need leaders who chart new trajectories and do so by setting an example. MIIT is proud to be the first and only university in Myanmar to have conducted prescribed courses of a regular semester online.
MIIT was represented at the 2019 Myanmar Robotians Competition by 3 teams – one in the Senior Competition and 2 in the Junior Competition. Team MIIT won the second prize in the Senior Competition, while Team Enigma won the first prize in the Junior Competition. Our heartiest congratulations to all the winners!
Integral – the robot designed by Team Sigma – was judged the best robot at the 2019 Myanmar STEM Competition. The students made an Arduino-based pH level detector to display real-time pH data of water samples. Team Sigma scored top marks at the contest in the senior category, even outperforming the winners of the regional contest for Yangon Region. Team Sigma has qualified to participate in the national contest that will be held in Nay Pyi Taw in January, 2020.
The MIIT teams put up an exceptional show at MCPC 2019, with CodeCipher and Alpha bagging the 2nd and the 5th rank respectively. The other three teams were also all able to secure a top 30 rank.
On September 20, the students of MIIT organised Sayar Gadaw Pwe (Homage Paying Ceremony) for their teachers. The entire affair was completely managed by students, with Daw Moe Moe Win, Registrar, MIIT playing a supervisory role. All the faculty members from both India and Myanmar were in attendance.
On September 7, 2019, MIIT Mandalay made history by conducting the first ever computer-based entrance examination in the history of Myanmar education for admissions to its Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) programme.
Our students organised the 2019 MIIT Fun Fair on August 23, 2019. The Fun Fair is an opportunity for students and faculty alike to let down their hair and have some fun.
On July 6, 2019, MIIT organised CodeMutants 2019 – the first-ever competitive programming competition for MIIT students. A total of 20 teams comprising of 50 students participated in the first edition of CodeMutants.
