MIIT conducts Physics lab sessions for the first semester fresher of both CSE and ECE students. The purpose of the lab sessions is to give students hands-on experience of important conceptual ideas in physics and to consolidate and supplement the Physics theory courses.
The lab is equipped with mechanical set-ups like a simple pendulum, Atwood machine, Hooke’s spring, friction board, sonometer, etc. These are used to investigate simple mechanical concepts in classical physics, like the theory of gravitation, Newton’s laws, Hooke’s laws and resonance.
Basic optical devices like optical laser, glass prism, lenses etc. are used to study optical phenomena like refraction, dispersion, and diffraction of light.
The lab is also equipped for basic calorimetry and has essential precision devices like Vernier callipers, screw gauges, and spherometers.
